Elizabeth MacGeachy

Elizabeth MacGeachy, String & Chamber Music Section Leader – Arlen Music is proud to introduce Elizabeth as our strings coordinator. Elizabeth has spent nearly two decades as one of Chicago’s most accomplished violinists. After training in Violin Performance and receiving her Masters degree from DePaul University, Elizabeth began an exciting and varied career playing with classical ensembles, for Broadway musicals (Little Shop of Horrors, Fiddler On the Roof) and with major classic rock bands like The Moody Blues. She has performed around the world in locations such as Chicago, Orlando and Seoul, Korea at the Olympic Games. Elizabeth currently lives in Chicago with her husband and their son.

NO STRINGS ATTACHED - UNLESS YOU SAY SO!

Imagine seven violinists winding up a staircase and greeting the guests at your wedding reception in joyful harmony. Or imagine a string quartet in the entryway or perched on a stairway landing. Or a simple strolling violinist. With such an auspicious start, everything else at the most important party of your life simply falls into place.

“If music be the food of love, play on,” wrote William Shakespeare. Indeed. Arlen Music is especially fond of making weddings elegant affairs to remember for a lifetime. With that in mind, Ken utilizes the exquisite services of violin producer Elizabeth MacGeachy and the AMC Violins.
“There’s just something about weddings and violins that go together,” Ken Arlen says. Simply put, strings exude sophistication and unbridled elegance to any event - especially weddings.

Arlen Music can create a string ensemble or a string section in the band that is perfect for your wedding ceremony, cocktail hour or dinner. From a soloist, to a violin/cello/flute trio, to a string quartet or small chamber orchestra, the possibilities are practically limitless. You pick the music, too. If you’re not hooked on classics, consider ordering up some contemporary music on those historic instruments. How about a few Sting or Beatles songs with strings?

But the elegance doesn’t end with the strings. You also can add brass for a regal heralding of your new life together. There’s no reason to send the violins home early. Ken has arranged all his dinner and dance music to include a violin section throughout the evening. Whatever you like, Arlen Music will make it happen, guaranteeing that the music portion of your wedding goes off without a hitch. The catering - that’s up to you.

There’s a time for elegance and there’s a time for fun. Luckily for you, your wedding day is a time for both.
